Measuring motion of
structural components
To test whether its guidance computer could correct
for chassis distortion during firing, a light
armored vehicle was instrumented with gages and
accelerometers to measure the relative motion of
structural components. A SixD engineer put together
the field instrumentation, collected data during a
series of firing tests, and validated the data before
delivering it to the customer.

Benefit: Cost effective custom solution
for measuring strain under challenging operating
conditions.
Services:
Field instrumentation
Data acquisition
Field testing support
