An agricultural equipment manufacturer launched a program to capture duty cycle data on combines operating in North America. A fleet of customer-owned machines was instrumented to capture structural loads and accelerations throughout an entire harvest cycle. Most data was downloaded periodically by SixD technicians. In some cases, the operator swapped out the data storage device and mailed it to SixD.

Benefit:
Actual field measurements challenged previous estimates of operating loads sustained and can guide subsequent component redesigns.

Services:

Instrumentation
Unattended data acquisition
